This is a recipe for tater tot casserole that was passed on to me from my mommy. I grew up on this dish and can’t imagine not having it in our meal plan rotations. I imagine that it originates from the era of casseroles but that doesn’t make it any less yummy.
This recipe does use several store bought ingredients but we have yet to find a substitute we like. As I had mentioned before, part of our homemade journey was realizing that it’s okay to have some items not be from scratch homemade.
Tater Tot Casserole
- 1-2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1 regular sized bag of tater tots or other potato product
- 1 small bag of green beans, 2-3 cups fresh
- 1/2 pound cooked ground meat
Layer ingredients in a glass baking dish. Ground beef, green beans, tater tots, and topped with cream of mushroom soup.
Bake at 350 until the soup bubbles. Approximately 20 minutes.
Look at that! Super easy and super yummy as well. The range of ingredients used is given because some people prefer more of one ingredient or another. So mess around with the proportions and find one that fits your tastes.
This is one of the best comfort dishes for me when the weather starts turning cool. If there are any suggestions for homemade cream of mushroom soup be sure to share and link up in the comments! I am still on the search for a good one.
