Those who follow me regularly might recall a post a couple week back about our journey with adult ADD/ADHD. I did promise to try and send out an update after any significant progress was made. Today is that day. I know I should be jumping up and down and super happy but right now I feel very defeated.
Homemade Dady chose to go to his doctor for help in addressing what the family was 100% sure was adult ADD/ADHD. The short story from the doctor was that there were signs of ADD but the doctor was not comfortable making the diagnosis so HD was sent to a Psychologist. The initial appointment with the Psychologist came back saying that HD was showing sign of atypical ADD. A follow up was scheduled and surveys sent out to several people. The results of all that work has recently come back.
He does not have ADD/ADHD.
I call *insert string of expletives here* and want a second opinion. It isn’t worth pursuing right now because of the move. I know that we will have better access to more after we move. In the mean time HD agreed to continue with what little help I am able to offer from a natural stand point. Currently that includes taking a men’s multi-vitamin and Omega’s 3, 6, and 9. The vitamin he takes is Rainbow Light chosen because it claims to be food based. The Omega’s are a single pill of complete omega by Barlean. It tastes a little fishy still but is better than straight up fish oil. He has also agreed to using an essential oil concoction that I come up with at a later date. Finally we are making a point of getting him more running time. Or just more time in the gym doing something.
What have you tried that helped you focus on everyday tasks?
