We got some of the best news we could get. Our class date got moved up a month earlier. This means we get to meet BigM’s service dog one month sooner. These past couple of weeks have been a flurry of getting the training video together to send in, getting to know our new classmates and starting to watch sales on dog kennels.
Our hotel is picked out and back up plans are made. We have started raising money to cover these travel costs and even set up a wish list on amazon of items we will need for the service dog. Ady’s Army has already done a lot to help lift our spirits and raise some money to help us make the trip. They are a non-profit dedicated to helping families with Autism. They have several specialty areas they work on including medical travel, yard fencing, and service dogs. Check them out, since they are non-profit the donations are tax deductible.
In addition to these we have started working on a couple other ideas for anyone in the local area. Once things are finalized I will share more details but they promise lots of fun!
This step up in training may not seem like a big deal but it has triggered several things to happen that we weren’t planning on quite yet. It has caused several complications that we have had to over come. Nothing is too much for our boy though. His health and safety comes first.
